"Energy market today and prospects in Lithuania and the Baltics", October 24, 2012, Vilnius
In the last years Baltic countries and broader international community are finding themselves at the crossroads of energy policies. Politicians, economists, engineers and other professionals are pressed to seek answers to hard questions on the present and future of energy. There are fiery disputes on the need of new nuclear plant in Lithuania, as well as loud discussions all over the world on the safety of such energy sources after the tragedy at the Fukushima. Renewable energy also constantly comes into the spotlight as there is still no consensus on which of the options have the best prospects. Add to that energy sector reforms that are taking place around the Baltics and changing the rules of the game for market players and consumers.
Outcome of these discussions will have long lasting effects for Lithuanian and Baltic economy, business, politics, even the everyday consumer. Therefore Estonian Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania together with Baltic law firm VARUL on the 24th of October are inviting to the traditional and renewable energy forum "Energy Market Today and prospects in Lithuania and the Baltics".
