On 22 February, EBN invited its members to hear a presentation about corruption, a problem that has been habitually singled out as one of the major impediments to Lithuania’s development. Jovitas Raškevičius, of the Special Investigation Service (STT), presented the efforts and results achieved by Lithuania’s main anti-corruption agency. Meanwhile Liudas Jurkonis, of EY’s fraud investigation and dispute services, pointed out what business managers could and should do to root out corruption in their organisations and industries.
An animated discussion followed the presentation, with with EBN members suggesting, commenting, and challenging some of the policies and also providing practical suggestions to address corruption and misappropriation of funds.
