The speaker is the former Estonian Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas.

taavi-roivas.jpgDuring his term, 2014-2016, Estonia became known as e-Estonia, one of the most digital societies in the world.

Rõivas was minister of Health and Social affairs in 2012-2014. Estonia was the first country to introduce nation-wide digital health record and uses blockchain to keep the data safe. Rõivas accepted an award for “best global use of blockchain by government” on behalf of his country at World Government Summit in 2017.

Rõivas has served as Member of Parliament 2007-2012 and 2016-2020. During these years Rõivas chaired several committees, including the Finance Committee and European Union Affairs Committee.
