Jaanus UigaThe speaker is the Director of Energy Department at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications of Estonia Jaanus Uiga.

Jaanus is a person who values meaningful work, meaningful relationships, and a decision-making system where the best ideas win out.

Currently, Jaanus is working as the Director of Energy Department at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications of Estonia, leading an 11-person team. Estonia has set ambitious goals for the energy sector for 2030 to increase energy efficiency and uptake of renewables while maintaining the security of supply and competitiveness of the economy. By 2050, Estonia's energy production and consumption must be climate neutral. Achieving these goals is the main task of the team.

Jaanus has played a major role in developing the National Energy and Climate Plan until 2030, the Estonian energy sector's long-term strategy until 2030, and the Estonian climate policy until 2050.

Jaanus has an MSc in Energy Engineering and a MBA and is passionate about developing the energy sector, leadership, and investing.
